Using Zucca and #9's, CO 21 sts
Join in the round
Loop stitch every stitch for 15 Rounds
(The pattern was designed to use exactly one ball of yarn. If you run out before round 15, don't worry. Just stop where you are, leaving enough yarn left over to do some seaming. If you have extra, you can make him a little taller.)
Cut yarn leaving long tail, thread through all stitches and gather tightly.
(but not so tightly that you break the yarn... the hole may be left partially open and you can seam it as you would a flat piece. This part won't show on the finished doll)
FEET: (make 4)
Using Encore and #6s, CO 13 sts
Garter stitch 16 rows
Pick up 7, 13, and 7 stitches along the edges and begin knitting in the round
Rounds 1-5: Stockinette stitch
Round 6: *k2tog, k9, k2tog, k7, repeat from * once
Round 7: *k11, k2tog, k3, k2tog, repeat from * once
Round 8: *k2tog, k7, k2tog, k5, repeat from * once
Round 9: k2tog all sts, pause here to add stuffing before the hole gets too small
Round 10: *k1, k2tog, repeat from * until you have 10 sts left
Rounds 11-15: Stockinette
Round 16: BO all sts
EARS: (Make 2)
Using Encore and #6s, CO 4 sts
Row 1: Knit
Row 2: p1, p2tog, p1
Row 3: BO
Attach the cast on edge of the ear to the "hairline" of the head, slightly further apart than the eyes
(Since this piece is so small, it's very important not to have loose edge stitches. I used the awesome edge stitch technique from Stitch'n'Bitch where you knit a stitch, insert the needle into the next stitch, and then tighten your yarn)
TAIL: (Make 1)
Using Encore, CO 5 sts
Knit 12 rows,
BO all sts
FINISHING:
-It's important to attach the head and feet to the gathered ends of the body, because incorrect placement could create a very unfortunate looking rear end.
-Attach the head to the already-gathered end of the body. Put stuffing inside body and cinch up the end using Zucca.
-Now attach the 4 feet to the underside of the sheep, which will cover up the 2nd gathered area. Make sure his garter stitch "treads" run front to back
-Fold the rectangle you made for his tail in half and sew onto his bottom.
